The latest snapshot added a handful of fun features - including Item Components in recipe results, and custom wolf variants! I've combined these two features in this rough concept to create flying wolf variants. It's definitely still a work-in-progress, but I'm loving that Mojang is giving datapack creators so many more options!

$Adding a charged jump to Minecraft with just 5 commands This week on Five Block Fridays, were creating a charged jump feature using just 5 command blocks. If you want to add different levels of charging, just copy blocks 4 and 5, changing the crouch timer value and level of jump boost or pitch of the tone. If you want the jump boost to persist as long as the player stays crouched, replace crouch_timer=20 in command 5 with crouch_timer=20...
