Removing, dismantling and doing PCB varnishing as a preventative measure on the Fisker Ocean water pump. This cabin heating water pump removal is different and harder on the RHD cars, as shown here. This is the pump in the recall notice. The pump electronics are removed and varnished on both sides to give it water resistance. On this UK car there was no damage to the pump and this was done as a preventative measure on the assumption that damage is due to internal condensation, like some people are suggesting. The combination of very cold water through the pump for AC cabin cooling with warm air outside may lead to this pump being more susceptible than the others, which have warm water in the pumps as they are only used for cooling motors or the battery.
