After years of delays, San Diego's Coaster recently starting running their new rolling stock from Bombardier. NCTC cabcar 423, is the first of three new next generation CEM Series X cabcars currently in service. Running as a 5 car set with Siemens SC-44 Charger 5001 on the north end, the new cars have been on various Coaster trains in late August of 2025. A total of 11 new Bombardier BiLevel passenger cars were ordered back in 2020, with most of the cars delivered to Coaster in early 2024. Now, after over a year and half of waiting, the first set is in revenue service. You'll also see some other Coaster trains in action, between Oceanside and San Diego.
