...So I've eventually got round to making a tutorial for the fire plough. I think I've covered everything I've learned so far & portrayed it in a simple but detailed way so hopefully you'll pick up a few good pointers from this.

...Special thanks to Honza @jj.jirka who gave me my first plough set & showed me that it is possible. Also check out Ian @sacredhearthfrictionfire who has also made some great tutorials & posts on ploughing with UK native species. Malachi @rocky_instincts was also an inspiration when I was struggling with this & Jo Lau @phyredojo has some great ploughing content on his Web site.

...Remember materials are key....Here's a list of what I have got to work ;
...Malayan cherry (relatively easy)
...Poplar on lime (A little harder)
...Yellow mombin (needs to be well seasoned)
...River tamarind ( Not easy needs to be well seasoned)
...Pigeon wood (not easy)
.
...And here's a list if what else I know works in order of easiest first : Sea hibiscus, Sotal, Candle nut, lime (tilia) cotton wood, Bamboo, Ivy, willow & western red cedar.

.Love to see a few of you guys giving this a bash because with good materials & a bit of practice this can be a relatively easy technique & it would be great to see some of you busting an ember out.
