...This week's #toptipsontuesdays is a fire plough tip relating to securing the hearth board.

...This is quite an important factor for this technique as movement in the hearth board will result in lost energy & can seriously work against you.

If you only have a short board there's a few options to secure it from using a heavy log or stone to trap it under or as Ian @sacredhearthfrictionfire recently demonstrated you can peg the board down. My preference though is the way I first got shown off Honza @jj.jirka & that is to use two flat boards to trap the hearth board down.
