In this video, I show you how to find gold in rivers, creeks, and streams in New York State by reading the water, bedrock, gravel bars, inside bends, potholes, black sand, and glacial outwash deposits.
This is tiny glacial gold, so you have to know exactly where it gets trapped. I’ll show you why exposed bedrock acts like Mother Nature’s sluice box, how cracks and fissures catch fine gold, and why fish often hang out in the same low-pressure zones where gold drops out.
Then we test a crazy little gold prospecting hack — using a pool cleaner / pool pump setup to suck material out of underwater bedrock cracks and potholes.
And yes… we found gold.
