A lost gold mine in the mountains of Nevada was rumored to run 5 ounces of gold per ton… so we went looking for it.
I’m Jeff Williams, and in this video I’m joined by my friend Alex, another top-notch field geologist. Together we follow the geology, read the rocks, sample the ground, and use old-school boots-on-the-ground prospecting to track down an unmarked gold mine hidden in the middle of Nevada.
This wasn’t just a random hole in the ground. We followed real geological clues, took samples from the area, brought them back to a small stream, and panned them out right there. And sure enough… there was real gold in the pan.
