Ancient Greek (κάραβος) for "crayfish, lobster".
The random encounter Octokrakens and Suckers only attack women, ie. Lenna and Faris, because someone at Square HQ clearly had a fetish. (An NPC in town does note this.)

![Final Fantasy VI [PC] - Flame Eater
Possibly a reference to Purobolos/Pyroboros from FFV (correctly pyrobolus, neo-Latin for bomb; apparently constructed from Greek πυρ fire and βορός eating, perhaps in reference to a bombs function and/or aftereffects); a group of six bomb-type enemies that had to be defeated simultaneously, else theyd keep reviving each other. They decided to use straight-up English for this one instead.
The Grenades it may summon dont count for Rages; you need to find one in the Bomb Forest for that. Final Fantasy VI [PC] - Flame Eater](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/lOn_anDoVbI/mqdefault.jpg)

You can break the Thunder Rod found in the cave for an instant win, but that forfeits the Heros Ring it becomes in the World of Ruin if you leave it alone. Speedrunners do it anyway, since they can cover that loss. Final Fantasy VI [PC] - Tunnel Armour](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/noEk0s3fbXk/mqdefault.jpg)
