Marilyn Monroe (June 1, 1926 - August 5, 1962) is better known for her roles in musicals and romantic comedies, but early in her career, she appeared in a few film noirs, and she was well-suited to that genre - even in a small part. She had star quality from the start, but her performance in "Don't Bother To Knock" (1952) showed her acting talent, something that was often dismissed by critics. A tribute to Alice Faye (May 5, 1915 – May 9, 1998) and her most frequent male co-star, Don Ameche (May 31, 1908 – December 6, 1993). They were an adorable screen team (and as both were good singers, they were an ideal teaming for musicals at their home studio, 20th Century Fox). In all, they appeared in six films together, all of which have had official DVD releases. Don said in later years that Alice was his favorite leading lady. Alice recorded the song, Its Swell Of You in 1937.
