An early birthday tribute to Natalie Wood (1938 - 1981), this is yet another video re-do, since this film was finally given an official DVD and Blu-ray released recently, so I felt it was time to do this tribute again with much better visual quality. Natalie received her third and final Oscar nomination for her performance, and she and Steve McQueen had wonderful chemistry. The controversial story for the time (illegal abortion, rather than entering into a loveless marriage, but love happens anyway despite cynicism) is still touching and refreshing all these years later. Directed by Robert Mulligan, the soundtrack by Elmer Bernstein, photographed in glorious black and white, the title tune here is performed by Jack Jones (it's briefly heard in the movie as well). If you are a Natalie Wood and/ or a Steve McQueen fan, you must see this film! Enjoy!

A tribute to Alice Faye (May 5, 1915 – May 9, 1998) and her most frequent male co-star, Don Ameche (May 31, 1908 – December 6, 1993). They were an adorable screen team (and as both were good singers, they were an ideal teaming for musicals at their home studio, 20th Century Fox). In all, they appeared in six films together, all of which have had official DVD releases. Don said in later years that Alice was his favorite leading lady. Alice recorded the song, Its Swell Of You in 1937.
