Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake is one of the most iconic survival horror games ever made, and this video reviews the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the remake. Review code for this version was provided by Koei Tecmo Europe.

The game follows Mio Amakura as she searches for her twin sister Mayu inside the cursed Minakami Village, a town haunted by the aftermath of a failed ritual known as the Crimson Sacrifice. As players explore the village, they uncover its dark history while confronting hostile spirits using the Camera Obscura.

Unlike traditional horror games, combat revolves around photographing ghosts to damage them, creating a tense system where players must let enemies approach closely in order to deal maximum damage with a perfectly timed Fatal Frame shot.

This review covers the story, gameplay mechanics, atmosphere, and how the remake performs on Nintendo Switch 2.
