This quest is mostly a bunch of talking, but you do get to kill a few raiders. You also unlock Ticonderoga where you'll find a Guns and Bullets magazine. If you're a decent level (30+) when you do this quest you should have no problems at all completing it. The raiders aren't difficult at all. You might be in some trouble if you run into a legendary deathclaw on the way there like I did though depending on your level.
