Video provided by @Simons Nuclearchemistry, a nuclear chemistry specialist conducting research at a German university.

In this video, we explore the properties of Sodium-22, a positron emitter. When Sodium-22 decays into Neon-22, it emits positrons that annihilate upon contact with normal matter, releasing highly energetic 511keV gamma photons. In addition to the 1274keV gammas, these photons contribute to a dose rate of 430μSv an hour. Learn how the Radiacode 103 detects these photons and the significance of the 511keV peak.

Important Reminder: Always follow local laws and handle radioactive materials responsibly — for your safety and others'.
