This historic Georgia farmhouse holds a secret—one we didn’t expect to find.
In this special collaboration with History Seekers, I take Heath, Theresa, and Amber to explore a forgotten Talbot County farm. What starts as a simple metal detecting trip turns into something more, when we uncover a Civil War-era bullet dropped by a Union soldier during Wilson’s Raid at the end of the war in 1865.
There were no battles here. So why was a Union soldier here? And what else happened on this land?
The first part of the video features metal detecting and discovery. Then we take you back to our first visit to this home with its owner, Joy, for a full look at its history and secrets. Though the audio and video from the original segment are from an earlier production, the story still resonates.
