Highlands, NJ - On May 17, 2024, at approximately 1:20 AM, a white Honda Civic was stopped bylaw enforcement due to an expired vehicle registration. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers detected a strong odor of alcohol emanating from inside. The driver exhibited signs of impairment during the field sobriety tests, including difficulty maintaining balance and failing to follow instructions. After completing the tests, the driver was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. No intoxicants were found in the vehicle during the subsequent search. She was transported to the Highlands Police Department, where she was read her Miranda Rights.
