We are expanding the herd! Join us as we bring home three beautiful Red Angus calves and begin training them for our single-wire rotational grazing system.
It is a huge day at Sheraton Park Farms! We are officially expanding our cattle herd. We recently had the opportunity to buy three gorgeous, yearling Red Angus calves (two bulls and one heifer) right down the road from our neighbor, and today is moving day!
In this video, we are bringing you along to load up the new arrivals and get them safely transported back to the farm. We will give you a full introduction to the newest members of the herd, breaking down their age, breed, and exactly why we chose to bring them onto the property.
But bringing them home is only step one! Because we rely on rotational grazing to build our soil and manage our pastures, these new calves have to learn to respect the fence. We are walking you step-by-step through our process of setting up a temporary training wire. We’ll show you exactly how we safely introduce them to a single strand of electric polywire so they can seamlessly integrate into our pasture rotation program.

In this video, we head out to a neighbor’s farm to pick up three Red Angus calves—two bulls and one heifer—just under a year old. We show loading them up, bringing them back to the farm, and getting them settled into their new environment.
The next day, we check in on them, talk about their age, breed, and where they came from, and walk through our plan for integrating them into our system.
A big part of that plan is getting them started with training wire so they can adapt to our rotational grazing setup, where we use a single strand of electric wire to manage and move cattle.
This is how we continue to grow the herd—intentionally and step by step.
