Exit Fate is a role playing game made in RPGMaker by SCF. With 75 characters to recruit, a mixture of typical turn based combat and war battles, and an engaging story, the result is a very Suikoden-esque game.

With the longest time ever for a detour to Oischin over and done with, Daniel hurries back to his castle as Erin has some important news regarding the war with Kirgard. To nobody's surprise, Kirgard's continuing their attempt to take down Matrech with a rather prominent "damned if you do, damned if you don't" caliber plan.
This plan involves the rebels in the Highland region whom they're supposedly allying with. The rebels are going to invade Bergstadt and kindly give Banhk the so called boot in the rear out the door. Logically, the State Army would respond by sending a portion of its army to defend the governor.
However, dividing the army is exactly what Kirgard wants because that'll basically give them a free pass to lay siege to Matrech and bring it down with no trouble at all.
So, how does the State Army counteract this? Either they lose Highland to the rebels or Matrech takes one for the team so it's a lose-lose situation.
The problem with the alliance between the rebels & Kirgard is that it's rather fragile. Kirgard likely would have no qualms of taking over Highland if they felt like it. Drive a wedge in between the two factions and the alliance would be broken.
How to break it up seems simple enough...get in contact with the rebels and negotiate some deals. Not the best solution by any means, but the choices are slim right now. Luckily, Daniel's someone that the leader of the rebels, Rock, seems to have a level of trust towards.
For Daniel though, he's been put in a very very tight situation. Both sides would easily love to jump at a chance to easily put him out of the picture if he does something that warrants. No choice for now though but to meet up with Rock and get cracking on negotiations so head over to Grunthall.
Upon making your way to Grunthall, head to the mine to find some rebels that'll take Daniel to where Rock is, blindfolded and all since his location's gotta be kept a secret.
Upon meeting with Rock, Daniel figures out the whole ploy that Rock intentionally leaked Kirgard's plans to Matrech. Seems crazy...and would work out in Rock's favor, but if the rebels got into a fight with the State Army, they'd be weakened enough for Kirgard to decide that, should they take down Zelmony, they'd double dip and take down Highland too.
Luckily, Rock sees this possibility and has a proposition for Daniel. Before we can see what his demands are, the screen fades to black.
The scene picks up at one of Kirgard's camps, complete with our favorite bumbling duo of Trevor & Sick in attendance. They've been tossed in with the remains of Keyser's legion whom themselves have joined up with the legion under Leonius's command. They're no doubt all happy with the chance to take down Daniel once and for all...and local revenge seeking man Bruce would be too...if he weren't stationed with the western forces.
After the scene ends, Daniel needs to return to the castle. One timeskip later and he's back at the meeting hall to talk to Bast. Whatever that proposition was, the end result of it was that Rock agreed to not get involved in this war.
On Bast's end, the preparation for war with Kirgard's western flank and those poised to attack from the coast to the east are almost finished, but he has one last thing to wrap up that requires Keyser's presence.
Once the former commanding legion general is brought in, Bast asks him if he knows anything about the Kelsinger incident. Keyser wasn't there so he's no help on that front.
However, when Daniel asks Keyser if he thinks Daniel was indeed the one that organized the attack, Keyser responds by saying that it's highly unlikely, stating that Daniel might have had a motive superficially, but that it doesn't match his personality.
All this though isn't why Bast truly had Keyser brought before him. Since Keyser returning to Kirgard isn't happening, Bast gives him a chance to put his skills to work once more by joining Daniel's army. Takes a bit of fancy talk, but Keyser realizes that someone like Daniel is worth serving under and joins the army.
Stat wise, Keyser's kinda like Shadfork. Not as much hp or defenses, but still good enough for him to sit on the frontline. He does have better strength, speed, and accuracy than Shadfork though...and surprisingly, a decent magic score that's only a little worse than Daniel's. Couple that with a C rank relationship with Bast who reciprocates that C rank with Keyser and you have someone who, while not the best fighter overall, is still quite capable in combat.
More next time!
