Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at these Timbren rear wheel BES disc brake pads. Now these pads have been designed to fit your 2021 to current Ford F-150 with either the 336 millimeter or the 350 millimeter rotors. And on custom fit parts such as these pads, I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer. Pop in the year, make and model of your vehicle, answer any other questions that it might have for you and our fit guide will confirm if these pads will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. Also, I wanted to mention that we do carry complete kits with the pads and the rotors that are going to fit your vehicle.
So if you're looking for the complete kit, again, our fit guide will point you in the right direction. So if you do a lot of towing, your factory brake pads can start to feel overwhelmed by that extra weight. These severe duty brake pads are designed specifically for trucks that tow, giving you that stronger initial bite and more responsive pedal so you're going to feel more confident when you need to slow down. So whether traffic suddenly comes to a stop or someone's pulling out in front of you, these pads are going to give you better control during those hard braking situations. Now these are built to handle the heat that comes with towing.
The fade resistant friction material is going to maintain consistent braking performance through repeated stops. So your brakes are going to stay predictable even on long grades or in stop and go traffic. And because these are low metallic pads, they're going to naturally provide more stopping power, but they could create more noise. So to help with that, these premium multi-layer vulcanized rubber shims are going to reduce squeal without sacrificing great performance. And as you can see there on your screen, I've got a few photos there.
The first photo shows you the construction of one of those shims from Timbren and showing you the different layers there. The second picture shows what a brake pad looks like with that shim pulled off just to give you a better look at the construction of these pads. Each pad is positive molded, which is going to ensure consistent density and precise dimensions for even wear and reliable braking performance throughout the life of the pads. If you notice here, the pads do include a bed end coating and that's the blue stripes that you see here. And so with that initial braking, that coating's going to rub off on the rotor to help give you that solid pedal feel right away while shortening the break in period.
