Born in Manchester, Jamaica in 1932, Ernest Ranglin is considered a pioneering force behind the rise of Caribbean music. Primarily known for his legendary jazz guitar, Ranglin toured with many reggae legends, most notably Jimmy Cliff in the 70's. In 1973, he was awarded the Order of Distinction from the Jamaican Government for his music contributions to the country. At 86 years young, Ranglin still travels all around the world, transforming dark jazz clubs into sunny Jamaican beaches.
