Easy Bass Chords w/ Open Strings (+Solo Bass Etude)
I had a request from a subscriber to talk about some bass chords that were easy to finger, and voila! Here they are. Open string bass chords are an awesome way to get a nice chordal sound without having to train your left hand significantly. Players of any level should be able to plug right into these chord shapes and start rocking.
In today's musical example, I made sure to include a chord based on each of the 4 open strings, so we've got an E chord, A chord, D chord, and a G chord. It's most common that people will use the open E and A strings for open string bass chords, but I really like to use all 4 in different scenarios.
This lesson is great for beginners or more advanced players, because I've included a simple version and more complex version of the same musical etude. After we finish jamming together, I'll talk about how to come up with your own open string bass chords!
