BECOME A PATRON: patreon.com/joshfossgreen
“Growl” is a fully improvised piece that was inspired by the neck pickup of my trusty Peavey Cirrus. The tone of the bass’s neck pickup is traditionally described as “growly” (think P-bass), so it was easy to go there with the title.
Interestingly, though I rolled the pickup blend all the way to the neck pickup, I ended up playing with my right hand over the bridge pickup for part of the piece, probably to add a little bit of clarity to the growl (I say probably because I did it unconsciously!).
Thank you for listening!
