Confused about how to improvise? In a lot of my previous bass lesson videos, I've talked about the importance of scale-based improvisation for developing your ear, practicing in a musical way, and having fun with it! Finally I'm going to dig into this practice with you live so you can see there's really no mystery to doing it.
To keep it easy for beginners, we'll stick to the A (natural) minor scale in a one octave box, and I'll give you some simple rhythms to start with to keep the barrier of entry very very low.

With all the free DAW software available now, it's really easy to make cool sounding loops like this to practice over. But to make it even easier, my patrons on Patreon will have access to a standalone 2 minute practice track for this lesson!
I hope by the end of this video you see how simple it can be to use and explore scales in a musical way. You don't need to "shred" or even have hopes of taking a lot of bass solos - it's just a way of developing your ear, making music, and hopefully having more fun than just practicing scales over and over.
