Part 30 - Sixth Sanctuary Cave
You'll need the Carrot Key from the Fifth Sanctuary Spot to enter the Sixth Sanctuary Cave.
The Sanctuary boss is Thunder and Storm. Thunder and Storm is vulnerable to Flash, so use Flash ß, γ, or Ω in each round to try to paralyze or instantly defeat this boss.
If you don't have any Big Bottle Rockets, buy a couple from the arms dealer in the Fourside Dept. Store. Give some food to your fastest party member in case someone gets mortally wounded.
Outline:
0:35 - Use the Carrot Key on the rabbit statues.
4:09 - Defeat the Sanctuary boss.
Notes:
0:17 - I got the Spectrum Beam and Crystal Charm for Jeff in Scaraba in part 27 (youtube.com/watch?v=tCGak3TfCjc&t=4m29s). The Crystal Charm increases Speed by 15, making Jeff my fastest party member.
0:21 - Photo Spots: in front of the palace entrance and in front of the throne.
0:55 - Thunder Mite: uses Thunder α and β; defeat with Freeze when facing a group. Tangoo: can cause poison or sleep.
2:37 - A Magic Butterfly often spawns here. Walk to the edge of the room and back toward the middle until one appears.
2:58 - Conducting Menace: uses Thunder and Flash. Defeat first with Freeze when facing a group.
3:44 - Rock Candy: use with Jar of Delisauce or Sugar Packet to increase a random stat by 2. There is a glitch that lets you use a Rock Candy an endless number of times. See - walkthrough.starmen.net/earthbound/pinkcloud.php
5:31 - The 24 max HP increase for Paula is from the Rock Candy + Jar of Delisauce.
6:20 - Bracer of Kings: only effective armor for Poo's arms. Increases Defense and Luck.
My rules for this walkthrough:
1. I don't use Big/Multi Bottle Rockets because I think they make the game too easy. My hope is that not using Bottle Rockets will give you a better sense of what each boss is like and make these videos more interesting.
2. I don't do any level grinding. I'll point out when I think I'm under-leveled in the videos.
