Part 33 - Start of the volcano to pulling the needle
The boss battle here is probably the hardest fight in the game. Before heading for the needle, level up Lucas until he learns Shield Ω at level 35. Buy a Boing Ribbon and a Flame Pendant for Kumatora in Saturn Valley, and give the Shield Snatcher to Boney. Buy a couple of Recollection Bells and Flea Powder from the Mole Cricket in front of the Magypsy's house, and give them to Duster and Boney. If you're low on food, buy Strawberry Tofu in Saturn Valley or Sincerity Dumplings from the Mole Cricket and give them to Duster and Boney.
Keep everyone's HP above 120 as you go through the volcano. The Aloha Coat (sold in Tazmily Village) can help against the Mrs. Lava, but it's not useful for more than that.
There is a Magic Butterfly room on the west side of the volcano (5:53). Use Lifeup to recover HP and repeatedly reenter this room to recover PP before heading for the needle. Watch out for the Magman and 2 Pyreflies guarding the entrance to this room. If you face the Magman with the 2 Pyreflies, have Boney use a Made-You-Look on the Magman and defeat it first with Freeze ß.
The fight against Fassad is roughly divided into 2 phases. In the first phase, Fassad attacks mostly by charging forward, firing beams, and causing various status effects. Conserve Kumatora's PP in this first part by relying on standard attacks. Have Kumatora use Healing on Lucas if he starts crying and use Lifeup to keep everyone above 120 HP. Use a Recollection Bell or Flea Powder if Lucas or Kumatora suffer from memory loss or fleas. (If you can combo, cure Fleas no matter who is affected because Fleas prevent combos.) This is the safest strategy I could find without relying on bombs or PP recovery items. If you have plenty of these items, you can probably be more aggressive.
In the second phase, which starts when Fassad starts smiling (13:45), Fassad throws bombs and recovers with Luxury Bananas. Be aggressive in the second phase because it's difficult to keep everyone healthy while counteracting the HP Fassad recovers. Have Kumatora use Thunder ß as much as possible while Lucas, Duster, and Boney use Lifeup and food to keep everyone above 130 HP. (If you can combo, have Kumatora use Lifeup instead while Lucas focuses on attacking.) Use PK Love ß as long as Lucas has enough PP leftover for Lifeup ß. Have Duster and Boney throw bombs, fire Pencil Rockets, or shoot Saltwater Guns when they have the chance.

1:24 - I think DCMC items work roughly 80% of the time against Pigmask Captains (source: starmen.net). The Hypno-Pendulum also works well.
2:13 - Try to lure one Sky Titany away from the other. Fighting both can be annyoying if they put someone to sleep. Use PK Love ß if they cause trouble--you can recover PP in a Magic Butterfly room up ahead. Wall Staples work roughly 75% of the time (source: starmen.net).
3:04 - Mrs. Lava can use Fire γ. Always defeat her first with Freeze ß when it appears in a group.
7:10 - You should be able to avoid this Mrs. Lava if you can run.
11:10 - I think the Smoke Bomb works roughly 50% of the time (source: starmen.net). It's probably not worth using if you can combo.
