Part 40 - End of the chapter
The Pigmask Colonel has a small chance of dropping the Awesome Cloak (Defense +23, max PP +30; -40% damage from Fire, Freeze, and Thunder). Only 1 Pigmask Colonel appears in this chapter, but you can fight as many as you want in the next chapter.
The fight against the Masked Man is easy if Lucas is over level 50 and has learned Lifeup Ω. Attack with PK Thunder γ, and recover everyone after being hit by PK Love or an electrical shock attack. Increase the party's Offense and decrease the Masked Man's Defense once each.
If you're underleveled like me, equip any Thunder Pendants you might have on Kumatora and Duster. Also, buy a few Sincerity Dumplings and Grilled Chicken for Duster and Boney. Increase the party's Offense twice, and decrease the Masked Man's Defense 2 or 3 times. Use the Smoke Bomb as well until the Masked Man cries. (It has a roughly 40% chance of working.) It's very difficult to maintain everyone's HP without Lifeup Ω, so have Kumatora use Lifeup almost exclusively, while Lucas uses Lifeup and Boney uses food when multiple party members are heavily injured.
Once you sprinkle the Water of Time on the vines blocking the entrance to Chupichupyoi Shrine, you won't be able to return to Tazmily Village and the surrounding areas. Make sure there isn't anything else you want to do before proceeding. In particular, you should've at least received the Shield Snatcher from a mouse by the Pork Bean Highway.

1:04 - Defeat the Pigmask Colonel and Majors.
4:31 - Defeat the Masked Man.
10:17 - Sprinkle the Water of Time on the vines and pull the needle.
Notes:
1:17 - DCMC items have about a 50% chance of working on Pigmask Majors (source: starmen.net). Another good option for Boney is to fire a Pencil Rocket or throw a bomb.
1:32 - Wall Staples have a high success rate against the Pigmask Colonel.
6:20 - This attack isn't a big deal with Lifeup Ω. Just remember defending slows the descent of the HP counter.
