A Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos var. domesticus) takes her ducklings to eat along the shore of a stream at Shadow Creek Ranch Nature Trail, in Pearland, TX, USA. The ducklings appear to be eating mostly Grass (family Poaceae) seeds. As they move on, one of the ducklings falls behind as it continues to eat, and Mom seems to pick up on that fairly quickly and turns around to let the last duckling catch up.
