A Leaf Katydid (family Phaneropterinae) nymph eats feeds on a Croton plant -- probably Lindheimer's Doveweed (Croton lindheimeri) -- at Attwater Prairie Chicken National Wildlife Refuge, in Colorado County, TX, USA. A small black Ant (family Formicidae) wanders along, brushing or maybe even nipping at the Katydid's feet. Feeling unsafe, the Katydid moves out of the way of the tiny Ant.
