It's now come to this. There shall be a Reckoning.
Ahzrak got beat. He's retreated back to Hell and now the Slayer along with the Sentinels are heading there to end his reign. That and with the help of Thira, it's possible. It's time for us to punish the guilty. So yeah, this is the last level of the game and we get to work. So yeah, we use the opportunity to find what we can and complete our goals. Unfortunately Ahzrak is retreating. We ain't letting him get away.
Once we deal with enough of these demons, we take on Ahzrak in the final battle. You aren't just taking him out. He also has his witch compatriot so it's essentially a 2-on-1 handicap match. We need to deal damage to both him and the witch and it's not pretty. So yeah, it's a multi-phase fight but once you kill off the witch, then Ahzrak is all that remains. He's no biggie at this point so give him hell.
Slayer first finishes off the Witch and the resulting exposion destroys the ship. As this happens, Thira watches the ship crashing. Slayer then finishes off Ahzrak once and for all. With his death (plus the Slayer throwing his head), the demons retreat. They are now leaderless. It is a victory for the Sentinels. The Sentinels now look forward since the Slayer has gone off on his own. Thira makes a speech stating to look forward and to put their faith in. They put their faith towards themselves, their home and the Slayer. As for the Slayer, he's in hell and he's ready to fight once more.
Doom: The Dark Ages is done but not completely. See you for when we do the tale that follows after, Revelations.
