This is the original RKO titles – and the original opening theme – to the 1947 Disney cartoon Clown of the Jungle, scanned and combined from two 16mm Technicolor blue-track prints. There were many splices, so I’ve used the soundtrack from the 1950s non-theatrical reissue, which is exactly the same. For Swedish watchers I’ve also included the ending scenes that have always been cut in “Kalle Anka och hans vänner önskar god jul.”
The version on The Chronological Donald Vol. 3 has perhaps the strangest piece of editing ever in the Treasures series: The opening inexplicably features the “Donald Duck Song” as theme – and besides from being incorrect, it’s also heavily cut to fit the timing. Why? In this case, I actually have no clue.
