How does one go from dodging police while shining shoes on the street, to the top of a country’s culinary world? It’s a story that sounds straight out of Hollywood- but really, it’s all about a small village called Chinh Ly, a place where food is about more than sustenance- it’s about community, love, and an ethos of utilizing everything to ensure nothing goes to waste. Today we travel back to that village with Chef Kiem Do and members of his family for a feast at the home where he grew up, to find out how his impossible story came to life.
