After two weeks on home lockdown, we finally had a chance to step outside for filming day. And with so much time living on delivery foods, what we really wanted was our favorite simple Thai meal- the Southern Thai-Malay breakfast staple of flaky roti, rich coconut curry, Khao Yam, and all the sides and dishes that make it a perfect meal. To find the best versions in Bangkok requires traveling to the Muslim communities on the outskirts of the city, and diving into the history of how these neighborhoods formed and why they're still so isolated, even within the metropolis of the giant capital.
