Great day for railroading! Today is the 67th of Walt’s Magic Kingdom: Disneyland. As such, I could not pass up the opportunity to see his happy place as we celebrate another wonderful year of operation. The engine and train roster is unchanged today:
Ernest S. Marsh - Holiday 5 Blue & Lilly Belle
C.K. Holliday - Holiday 4 Green
Fred Gurley - Excursion 3
(Ward Kimball and Holiday 2 Red).
First is a smashing shot of Holliday coming into Toontown Depot then Ernest taking the Big Thunder Trail curve. We then see Holliday on the Rivers of America then Ernest passing by the Hungry Bear restaurant. Then is a montage of all three trains arriving and departing from Main Street seen from the Town Square (relatively the same location the television cameras broadcasted Walt’s dedication speech).
I would have had a montage at the end to commemorate the return of the Pacific Electric Red Car Trolley on Buena Vista Street at California Adventure but 623 was temporarily closed when I arrived after park hopping. Besides, the day belongs to the DRR and Walt’s engines. Hope you enjoy!
