Whether in books or online articles and videos, there's a tendency to cast Alexander's mourning behavior as abnormal and extreme. Yet this reflects both a general unfamiliarity with the realities of mourning, as well as overlooks Alexander's great wealth, authority, *and* isolation. Losing his childhood friend, probable lover, and the most emotionally significant person in his life--his alter-ego--would of course cause the most intense level of grief a human being can suffer. This video talks about Alexander's mourning not only from an historical view, but with an eye to bereavement studies, as well.
