The BNSF Needles Subdivision is located in the heart of the Mojave Desert, between Barstow and Needles, California. As a part of the Southern Transcon between Los Angeles and Chicago, freight action is plentiful and never disappoints! In addition, Union Pacific trains have trackage rights on a portion of the line, between Barstow and Daggett. Once at Daggett, they then continue onto the UP Cima Subdivision towards Las Vegas and Salt Lake City.

In this video from January 2019, I spent an afternoon/evening along the Needles Subdivision in Daggett, CA. Plenty of action this particular afternoon!
