4K - MARC Bombardier HHP-8's in action on the Penn Line, in 2022 and 2023. These unique engines have slowly dwindled on the Northeast Corridor, and with only 6 left on the roster for MARC, it's not an often piece of equipment to catch. 21 of these electric locomotives were made in the early 2000's by Bombardier, both in service with Amtrak and MARC. Over the years, they have unfortunately been plagued with all sorts of mechanical issues, leading to their early retirement and eventual replacement on Amtrak service. Regardless, a very unique piece of equipment to see in 2023!
