Hello from Japan, home to some of the fastest and coolest trains in the world! In this video, we'll focus on some of the fastest trains in Japan, on the Tōhoku Shinkansen. This line runs North out of Tokyo, and runs for about 420 miles, making it the longest Shinkansen route. Speeds reach as high as 320 km/h or 199 mp/h. A vast variety of equipment is also used, ranging from the E2, E3, E5 (my favorite), E6, E8, and the H5 series.

I spent a morning at the Oyama station, located about 65 miles north of Tokyo. Maximum authorized speed through this station is 275km/h or 170 mp/h. Busy non-stop traffic on this line, always something passing within a few minutes of each other! Managed to also get a shot of one of the new E8 Series Shinkansen sets going by, sharp looking train!

Later that morning, I ventured back towards Tokyo, and spent some time at the Omiya Station. Located in the Saitama Prefecture, this busy station is about 15 miles north of Tokyo proper.
