Canadian director and independent producer Denis Côté is experimenting with silence and muteness in his films. Having worked as film critic for many years Denis Côté is also theorizing the role of silence in cinema. To us he spoke about that "terrifying" material and why it allows himself to take distance from a dialogue based television and mainstream cinema style of filmmaking.
