In the eighthies the daughter of famous photographer John Vachon studied semiotics and philosophy at Brown University in New York. Very soon she started to get involved in the New York's independent film scence. Today Christine Vachon is the producer of films by Larry Clark, Todd Haynes, John Cameron Mitchell and John Waters. Her 1996 based company KILLER FILMS has become one of the major labels in the independent film scene of the United States.
