Evie (ChickasaurusGL) 🌺 | Day-Care experience flaw (possibility of losing experience) (Generation II) @ChickasaurusGL | Uploaded December 2023 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
In Generation II, withdrawing a Pokémon from the Day Care returns it with the minimum experience for the current level. Therefore, if you bring in a Pokémon which has gained some experience from its current level, it will lose experience (such as our Level 99 Celebi with 1 experience to Level 100).

This did not occur in Generation I, however I've only tested the English versions so far.
This is not to be confused with corrupted Pokémon (e.g. with bad clone glitch or merge glitch) reverting to a lower level.
