When my original power plant gave up the ghost, here were the warning signs:
⚠️ At 8,200 shots, I felt the need to lube my power plant wirh RWS Silicone. I recently just did that. That was too fast.
⚠️ The 340 picked back up for a few shots, then started shooting under the can again at 5 yards.
⚠️ The last indicator that lead me to to change out to a new slide (a spare slide), was it bouncing off the front of pop can shooting at 3 yards. A water filled can normally would always get punctured by my 340 in this test.
340 KILLING MOVES
☠Dry firing power plant - no ammo in breech - is harmful to most spring guns and poor gun handling. Some say modern guns can take it. But I was taught long ago not to do that wirh the fine guns like HW-50.
☠ Don't shoot used BBs. You can clear that jam in 340, but mistakes can be made that break it on others ways. The oniy jam I've had, that is BB related, was in my 340 because I reused BBs.
☠You use cheap BBs that are too small and many times rusty. Both are bad and little BBs can be a semi dry fire. Use only new Daisy BBs.
