A large hollow cuboctahedron formed from 92 octahedron units, each built from 72 5mm neodymium magnetic balls. The cuboctahedron is a fairly simple geometric form with 6 square and 8 triangular faces. The octahedrons are in fact bonding across only their edges, not their triangular faces, to produce this geometry.

Total exact magnet count: 12 × 12 × 46 (nickel coloured outer pieces) + 12 × 122 (2 layer golden mini cores inside the outer nickel clusters) + 12 × 46 (central golden core cluster outer pieces) + 60 (mini golden core inside the central golden core) = a grand total of 8700 5mm diameter neodymium magnetic balls.
