Here we have a look at the Crypton 290 engine emissions analyzer from the recent auction scores. Apparently it's faulty because the display gets scrambled as soon as i press any key.
It turned out to be a rather long winded repair, but we got there at the end. This series has probably some rather boring sections for the engine mechanics out there, it's certainly more interesting for the electronics guys because we do some surgery on the main processor board.
This is a 3 part video because it was just to long for a single one.
Nevertheless, the unit is finally back to operating state, but still need to compare the readings and replace the oxygen sensor.
The O2 sensor is a consumable with limited lifetime, costs around $50, certainly worth doing and if there is nothing else i have a working analyser for just over $100 total cost, not bad.
Once the sensor arrives (just ordered it) , there will be a 4th part following.
