This is the second Episode of a multi-part series about AC motors / Induction motors, speed control of such and single - three phase conversion methods. (VFD, Inverter, Static, rotary convertor, etc). It is supposed to be a simplified how-to, primary focussing on practical application with as little as possible theoretical ballast.

If you looking for something rather scientific, being 100% correct in maths and terminology, this is certainly not for you as this is supposed to be an aid for the every day machinist with rather less electrical knowledge.
However, i am happy to answer any question as long as it contributes to the subject.
This episode covers reading and interpreting motor name plates and what to do if the mains voltage does not line up with it. It also strives some subjects being covered by future episodes in much greater detail.
