In my crochet tutorial today I’ll be showing you how to make this crochet small owl applique.

For this pattern you will need any thickness crochet cotton or yarn, I used Scheepjes Catona cotton colours (179) Topaz, (106) Snow White, (110) Black, (254) Moon Rock and (383) Ginger Gold. A crochet hook, I used a 2.5mm hook. A darning needle to weave in ends. Thread and needle to stitch the owl together and white thread to embroider dot in the centre of the eyes and a pair of scissors.
The finished size will be 5cm wide x 6.5cm high (2” wide x 3” high) for the larger owl, using 8 ply crochet cotton. The size of the small owl in Catona will be 6cm wide x 7cm high (2.5” wide x 3” high). The medium owl will be 4cm wide x 5.5cm high (1.5” wide x 2.25” high) when using 4 ply crochet cotton. The small owl will be 3cm wide x 4cm high (1.25” wide x 1.5” high) when using 2 ply crochet cotton.
