In my crochet tutorial today I'll be showing you how to make this crochet German boy applique.
If you would like to view the crochet pattern for free, it's on my website at kerriscrochet.com/crochet-german-boy-pattern or you can download it from Ravelry at ravelry.com/patterns/library/german-boy for $1 at and LoveCrafts at lovecrafts.com/en-gb/p/catalog/product/view/id/371773
You can also subscribe to Kerri's Crochet Newsletter and get a free copy of the Crochet Cat Towel eBook at kerriscrochet.com/crochet-pattern-ebook-and-newsletter
For this pattern you will need crochet cotton or wool, I used Scheepjes Catona crochet cotton colours (208) Yellow Gold, (105) Bridal White, (110) Black, (390) Poppy Rose, (254) Moon Rock, (189) Royal Orange, (173) Bluebell and a tiny bit of (106) Snow White. A crochet hook, I used a 1mm hook. Scissors. Darning needle to weave in ends. Sewing thread and needle to stitch the boy together and embroider on markings.
The finished size will be 8cm x 19cm (3” x 7.5”) for the larger German boy, using 8 ply crochet cotton. The size of the German boy in Catona will be 7.5cm x 16cm (3" x 6.25"). The medium German boy will be 5.5cm x 13cm (2.25” x 5”) when using 4 ply crochet cotton. The small German boy will be 4cm x 10cm (1.5” x 4”) when using 2 ply crochet cotton.
