In my crochet tutorial today I'll be showing you how to make this crochet peacock applique.

If you would like to view the crochet pattern for free, it's on my website at kerriscrochet.com/crochet-peacock-pattern or you can download it from Ravelry at ravelry.com/patterns/library/peacock-29 for $1 at and LoveCrafts at lovecrafts.com/en-gb/p/catalog/product/view/id/426086

You can also subscribe to Kerri's Crochet Newsletter and get a free copy of the Crochet Cat Towel eBook at kerriscrochet.com/crochet-pattern-ebook-and-newsletter

For this pattern you will need any thickness crochet cotton or yarn, I used Scheepjes Catona crochet cotton colours (515) Emerald, (201) Electric Blue, (254) Moon Rock and (208) Yellow Gold.  A crochet hook, I used a 2.5mm hook.  A darning needle to weave in ends and a pair of scissors.  Sewing thread and a needle to stitch the peacock together.  Some black and white thread for the eye markings if desired.  Thin black cotton and small blue seed beads for the head feathers if desired.

The finished size will be 13cm wide x 25cm high (5” wide x 9.25” high) for the larger peacock, using 8 ply crochet cotton. The size of the peacock in Catona will be 11cm wide x 20.5cm high (4.25" wide x 8" high). The medium peacock will be 10cm wide x 18cm high (4” wide x 7” high) when using 4 ply crochet cotton. The small peacock will be 7cm wide x 13cm high (2.75” wide x 5” high) when using 2 ply crochet cotton.
