Crix Madine was a Corellian man who came to lead a commando unit in the Galactic Empire, rising to the rank of General. He eventually defected to join the Rebel Alliance, where he planned missions involving the theft of Imperial equipment, and was once again a general by the time of the Battle of Hoth. Serving as a member of Alliance High Command, he learned of the existence of the second Death Star and helped develop several missions to not only destroy the superweapon, but also protect the Rebel Alliance until the proper time came. Operation Yellow Moon served as a distraction to hide the Rebel fleet as it gathered near Sullust, and it also resulted in the acquisition of the Imperial shuttle Tydirium. General Madine oversaw the strike team that infiltrated the forest moon of Endor to destroy the second Death Star’s shield generator, and remained on high alert for Imperial counter attack after the Battle of Endor. He remained with the New Republic as it hunted down what was left of the Empire, and was on Chandrila during potential peace talks, which wound up being an Imperial trap. It is unconfirmed but likely that Madine was assassinated during the attacks on Chandrila. Behind the scenes, Dermot Crowley filmed many scenes as the leader of the Rebel Fleet in the Battle of Endor, just in case Admiral Ackbar’s footage didn’t work. #starwars
