Cowboy Curtis Spicy Tequila Cocktail - Mezcal too!
Welcome back to "Cocktails After Dark"! In today's episode, we're creating two versions of a spicy margarita using leftover syrup from Cowboy Candy. If you’ve been following along on the Cooking Channel, you know I made a batch of Cowboy Candy, and today we’re putting the spicy syrup to good use in two different cocktails—one with tequila and one with mezcal.
This flavourful syrup, which is made from sugar, vinegar, and jalapeños, adds a bold kick to the margaritas. We’ll be using Cointreau, fresh lime juice, and a touch of simple syrup to balance the flavours. The tequila-based version has a bright, classic margarita taste, while the mezcal version brings in smoky, campfire vibes. Both are delicious, and the difference between the two is striking.
Make sure to try out your favourite tequila or mezcal at home, and don’t forget—everything you think you know about tequila is just marketing! Enjoy what you like, and mix your drinks to your taste. Want to recreate this at home? First, make yourself some Cowboy Candy, and don't forget the beans—they’re the perfect match for these drinks!
