Welcome back to the kitchen! This isn’t a typical Old Cookbook Show episode, but today we’re diving into a beloved Newfoundland and Labrador classic: molasses buns. This recipe comes from the 1974 cookbook Fat Back and Molasses, a treasured collection of traditional Newfoundland recipes—still in print today!

Join me as I walk through this spiced version of Newfoundland molasses buns—no raisins, no salt pork, but full of warm flavor and maritime history. Whether you remember your Nan baking them in a pan, loaf tin, or cutting them like biscuits, every little cove has their own twist—and I’d love to hear yours in the comments.
