today I wanted to talk about something I deal with every day as a creative and that's the pressures of posting to social media consistently and the dangers of thinking of our creative endeavors as nothing more than a post or video to be consumed. it's wrecked my brain in the past and I KNOW I'm not alone in this, so I wanted to talk through it with you guys!
social media is a double-edged sword. on one hand, I wouldn't have the community I do today here on youtube and across my other socials and .... to be honest, probably would have never found this awesome hobby! but left unchecked it can lead to some gnarly burnout and overwhelm as well as start to chip away at our creativity. when all you see is "content" while you're crafting, researching or heck ... even at the end of a long cosplay or other hobby build (like I did), it's time to step back and reassess what you're even doing it all for.
